RHEUMATOLOGY

It is the area where painful / painless rheumatic diseases that affect the movement structures of the body such as joints, muscles and bones, and in some cases can affect various organs, are examined.

Diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, vasculitides, sacoidosis and Mediterranean fever are some of the inflammatory rheumatisms that involve joint involvement.

Rheumatoid Arthritis : Most common among inflammatory rheumatism, it usually affects the joints of the body such as hands, wrists, fingers, elbows, knees and shoulders. In rheumatoid arthritis, which is a chronic disease, blood inflammation values are high. If left untreated, it causes deformities and disability in the joints.

Psoriatic Arthritis : It is an inflammatory rheumatism caused by psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis is seen in approximately 20-40% of psoriasis patients. It shows involvement in all movable joints and spine. If left untreated, it causes permanent damage to the joints.

Ankylosing Spondylitis : It is a chronic low back pain, stiffness involving the joints in the spine and the pelvis. It can be confused with muscle spasm and lumbar hernia. Apart from waist involvement, it can cause problems such as psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, stiffness in joints such as ankle and knee.
